You’ve got mail.

What did I get in the mail today? Floral printed pants from Asos is what! Having a big package waiting for you at home is a fabulous feeling, especially when the package contains some form of clothing/accessory. The pants are a little big, but in a good way and will be perfect for winter, they’re like a garden on my legs, they were also a bargain, only $59.50 (Aus) with free delivery!

Killer peplum.

I was never a huge fan of the peplum until Michelle Williams graced the red carpet at the Oscars wearing an amazing Louis Vuitton gown with a stunning peplum. I think my initial dislike of the peplum was the over use of it, generally in a not so chic manner. But done properly, the peplum can be super flattering (ideal for hiding food babies) and very chic, see; Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton. So when I saw this killer peplum on JakandJil I had to post it to show just how good a peplum can look when done right.

Look of the day.

This look is so cute. It looks effortless, the layering and the soft pink give it a child-like look, the brogues give it some polish. Love the contrast of the back-pack and the soft tutu-like skirt, the blonde bob seals the deal. Anyone wanting to look as though they manage to look amazing without trying, take tips from this look. Very New York.

Fashion week (off the catwalk).

During my amazing couple of days at fashion week in Sydney a couple of weeks ago, there were times where I had to quickly pick my jaw up off the ground and avert my eyes to avoid looking too awkward. Most of these occasions involved me seeing one of my blogging heroes. Trawling the blogs I have found some shots of bloggers on the days where I saw them.

Alexandra Spencer, blogger for ‘4th and Bleeker’, I saw her at the Ms Unkon show that day.

Bryan blogger for ‘Bryan Boy’, I saw him at the Ksubi show rocking this amazing beanie and veil combo, he was so nice and really happy to have his pictures taken with fans.

Natalie Joos from ‘Tales of Endearment’, I saw her a couple of times and she always looked amazing! This was outside the Zimmerman show, which I might add was an amazing show!

Rumi Neely from ‘Fashion Toast’, I saw her taking these shots with her super handsome boyfriend on the Sunday before fashion week officially began. She’s rocking an amazing ‘Lover’ lace dress.

Look of the day.

The simplicity and layering of this outfit is perfection. The contrasting colours and patterns, the boyfriend jeans, the booties and peter-pan collar, it all mixes together to create a perfect Autumn/Winter casual look. I haven’t done a ‘Look of the day’ post in weeks, I forgot the joy it brings.

M.I.A

I apologise for being so slack recently with my blogging, I haven’t posted anything for weeks. I’ve been busy with uni, fashion week and work, I’m really annoyed I haven’t gotten around to finishing my fashion week blog which was so exciting, so many exciting moments. That post is coming soon, promise! I also had a computer problem, but have updated my laptop with a MacBook, so I should be set for blogging from now on. Another fashion moment I wanted to blog about was the massive change at Vogue Australia, with the ousting of long-time editor, Kirstie Clements, who was replaced by Edwina McCann, current editor of Harper’s Bazaar. McCann is on a career high after securing one of the biggest Australian magazine covers of the year featuring Nicole Kidman and her youngest daughter Faith. Clements was a legend of Vogue, working with the magazine for thirteen years and editing for ten, she made an enormous impact on the iconic magazine and was a woman who didn’t follow trends but had style, I saw her only a few weeks ago, sitting front row at all the big shows, looking glamorous as ever. Also at the recent shows was McCann, she must have been aware of her imminent departure from Harper’s and take-over at Vogue. Clements surely will do something else fabulous within the industry, with her experience she could go anywhere, while McCann will bring something new and fresh to the iconic magazine, coming off a very big high at rival Harper’s.

Look of the day.

Generally I avoid featuring red carpet shots on this blog, I don’t generally feature celebrities except fashion celebrities, but I saw this shot of Leelee Sobieski in the Row and I had to put it up. Remember Sobieski, the innocent geek from ‘Never Been Kissed’ with Drew Barrymore? She disappeared for a while but she has recently popped back up in the acting world and also big time in the fashion world. Whether she has an amazing stylist or she herself has an eye for style, we’ll never know, but either way she has looked amazing recently. This look from the ‘Five Year Engagement’ premier where she wore a the Row coat, over a long black gown, is so chic, I love the colour and shape of the coat, something I wish I could pop in my winter wardrobe!
